The Master of Business Administration (MBA) study programme provides what you require: extensive business knowledge, high social competence and intercultural management experience. We will help you to acquire the knowledge and skills required for a senior management position.

Study Programme
The Master in Business Administration (MBA) study programme consists of modules. You can plan your own study time in accordance with your business and personal commitments.
The study programme comprises eleven mandatory and three elective courses implemented in Slovenian and English. The duration of the study programme is two years, although experience shows it can be completed in 18 months.
MBA Programme Details
The programme focuses on the basic areas of management work. Our methods of learning by doing, role-play, case studies, teamwork, systematic views into the workings of the business world, and exposure to contemporary management challenges help students acquire competences and knowledge immediately applicable to practical work.
Composition of the MBA study programme:
1. There are
eleven mandatory common courses, giving students the opportunity to extend and improve previously acquired knowledge in order to be able to understand the study programme and ways of communication between business programmes. The mandatory common courses are:
- General Business Administration (5 ECTS credits)
- Finance and Controlling (5 ECTS credits)
- Corporate Management and Organisation (3 ECTS credits)
- International Marketing* (3 ECTS credits)
- Integrated Corporate Planning and Management (1 ECTS credits)
- Entrepreneurship (3 ECTS credits)
- Project Management* (3 ECTS credits)
- Strategic Management* (4 ECTS credits)
- International Business Law (3 ECTS credits)
- Management (3 ECTS credits)
- Seminar in Intercultural Exchange* (exception: 4 days) (3 ECTS credits)
The total is 36 ECTS credits.

2. The next step in the programme consists of elective courses. Students choose three courses from a list of twelve elective courses. These courses are:
- Corporate Development of Eastern Europe (3 ECTS credits)
- Marketing for Smaller Companies (3 ECTS credits)
- International Strategic Connections (3 ECTS credits)
- Global Strategic Management (3 ECTS credits)
- Intercultural Management (3 ECTS credits)
- International Tax Law (3 ECTS credits)
- Mergers and Mergers by Acquisition (3 ECTS credits)
- International Logistics (3 ECTS credits)
- Sales Management (3 ECTS credits)
- IT Management (3 ECTS credits)
- Personal Skills* (3 ECTS credits)
- Change Management (3 ECTS credits)

3. Preparing a master’s thesis outline is part of the 2nd year study programme. This means students must choose the subject of their master’s thesis and find a mentor. The preparation of an outline includes individual consultations with the mentor. The outline must be written in accordance with the Faculty rules for the structure of a master’s thesis. MBA studies are completed by preparing and defending a master’s thesis. A master’s thesis is an independent research project performed by the student under the guidance of a mentor. It is evaluated with 15 ECTS credits.
Upon completion of the MBA study programme, students have 60 ECTS credits.
International Accreditation
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) study programme is accredited by the FIBAA (Foundation for International Administration Accreditation). The FIBAA accreditation is a guarantee of top quality and standard comparability.
Exams and Thesis
In addition to seminar papers, presentations and exams, students are required to write and defend a master’s thesis prior to completing their MBA studies.
The subject of the master’s thesis can be an actual project or a management problem from the student’s work experience.
Professional Title
In accordance with MBA Order No. 29, BGBl. II No. 172/2004, of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture (Republic of Austria), graduates of the programme gain the title
Master of Business Administration (MBA).
