Requirements

The following candidates may enrol in Year 1 of the masters study programme:

  • Graduates of 1st cycle professional higher education programmes in the field of computer and information science or business information science
  • Graduates of the 1st cycle study programme in other professional fields (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits). Graduates of these programmes shall fulfil additional study obligations from the undergraduate study programme, equivalent to 15 ECTS credits: Databases (8 ECTS credits) and Business Information Systems (7 ECTS credits). The fulfilment of the additional study obligations is not an admission requirement, but these obligations shall be fulfilled prior to completion of the masters study programme. Candidates may fulfil these obligations by joining organized forms of study work, or they may study the subject matter individually by agreement with the coordinator of the corresponding course.

The following candidates may enrol directly in Year 2 of the masters study programme:

  • Graduates of 4-year 1st cycle university study programmes (equivalent to 240 ECTS credits) in the field of computer and information science or business information science;
  • Candidates who fulfil the requirements for admission in Year 2 of the masters study programme Commercial Science or other study programmes at the FCBS and fulfil additional study obligations: Databases II (8 ECTS credits ) and IT Management Support (8 ECTS credits).

These admission requirements apply for students who graduated in Slovenia as well as for those who completed their 1st cycle university education abroad.

If enrolment is restricted, candidates are selected with regard to:

  • Grade point average for undergraduate studies 70%
  • Grade for the undergraduate dissertation 30%.

The postgraduate study programme Business Information Science will also be implemented by foreign lecturers, who will conduct their courses in a foreign language (usually in English). Additional literature for most of the courses is in also English. We therefore expect that candidates for the masters study programme will have an appropriate command of at least the English language.
